Jackson Street Safe Routes to School

This Mass Highway project, funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, is ready to begin! This is one of the first Safe Routes to School projects under construction in the State of Massachusetts. It includes sidewalk improvements, a connection to the Rail Trail Bike Path, two raised crosswalks, granite curbing, new pavement, and a reconfiguration of the school driveway entrance. Site clearing and grubbing should occur this Fall while sidewalk and bicycle safety improvements will happen in the Spring 2010. This project has a deadline of October 8, 2010.
