Easthampton Road (Route 10) Detour

On Sunday September 19, 2010, Easthampton Road (Route 10) will be closed to all traffic from 6:00 a.m. to early afternoon so construction crews can set the rail trail bridge on its foundation. Traffic will be diverted at Earle Street in Northampton and O'Neil Street/Florence Road in Easthampton.

Roundabout Weekly Construction Schedule

Work scheduled for the week of August 30th includes installation of granite curbing, placement of loam, grading for sidewalks and temporary signage for use of the roundabout.

Work scheduled for the week of August 16th includes Fine Grading and Paving the remaining portion of the roundabout and Rte 9 and grading for remaining sidewalks and installation of Rip Rap.

Water Restriction On-going. Please Conserve.

The City of Northampton Department of Public Works (DPW) continues to implement a water use restriction for users of the Northampton Public Water Supply. The continued drought conditions in the Northeast requires this on-going water restriction. Limiting water use, especially non-essential outdoor water use, is needed to ensure a sustainable water supply and to protect stream flow for aquatic life. Please conserve this preciuos natural resource. Your continued cooperation is appreciated.
