PRESENTATION: Renewable Energy at the Glendale Road Landfill

The Smith College Picker Engineering Program Senior Design Clinic will be presenting their summary of renewable energy at the City's landfill. This presentation is the product of a year long study that researched wind, solar and biofuels on the landfill as it is scheduled to close in mid-2012. The presentation will be at the JFK Community Room, 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2012.

Free Trees for Arbor Day

The City of Northampton is giving away trees for Arbor Day.

Friday April 29th: Saplings at DPW (125 Locust St).
Saturday April 30th: Larger trees at Smith Vocational and Agricultural High School (80 Locust Street - preregister)

Street Sweeping Begins

Street sweepers are moving through the Wards in the following order: 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 then 1 this year. DPW expects to begin sweeping the Wards the week of April 11. To begin, the Wards will be done during the day and the main roads and schools will be done on 3rd shift. As the work progresses, DPW will update this information
