Ridgewood Terrace- New No Parking Zone

A few weeks ago, the Northampton Police Department (NPD) placed temporary “No Parking-Tow Zone” signs at the end of Ridgewood Terrace near the Jackson Street intersection, and began enforcement this past week.  This solution was successful for clearing away the congestion of cars parking on both sides of the street during the busy pick-up and drop-off times for the Jackson Street School.  Unfortunately, it just moved the same problem up the street causing further safety concerns regarding traffic flow restrictions for emergency vehicles.

The Northampton Department of Public Works (DPW) would like to invite you to attend the next Transportation and Parking Commission (TPC) meeting to discuss another proposed “No Parking” zone on Ridgewood Terrace to deal with this issue.

Please save this date and time on your calendar if you would like to contribute to the discussion:

Tuesday, February 21, 2012 (4:00-6:00 pm)
City Hall, 210 Main Street
Hearing Room, 2nd Floor

The information presented will be at a conceptual level and is intended to encourage comment from the public in order to develop a neighborhood consensus for the future Ordinance.

If you have any questions about this meeting or are unable to attend and want to share your concerns, please call Laura Hanson at (413) 587-1570, ex. 4312.
