Audubon Road Utilites and Road Reconstruction Project

The City has awarded this project to Borges Construction of Ludlow, MA. Construction is expected to begin later this spring. This project is part of the City's continuing work to improve and update municipal infrastructure.

Beginning at the intersection of Mulberry St., River Rd. and Reservoir Rd. and proceeding generally northwesterly along Audubon Road to approximately 179 Audubon Rd. This project will consist of installation of approximately 3,000 linear feet of new water main, including hydrants and service connections. Work in this area will also include replacement of drainage utilities and the replacement of the existing roadway culvert with a new 3-sided culvert. The roadway in this area will be reclaimed and repaved.

Roadway reclamation and repaving will also be performed on Audubon Road from the Kennedy Road intersection,  proceeding generally easterly approximately 600 linear feet.

Throughout most of construction, it is anticipated that one-way traffic will be maintained. However, during construction of the new culvert and at other intervals, it may be necessary to temporarily close the road to through traffic. Motorist should seek alternate routes once construction gets underway.

During construction, this blog will be updated weekly with expected work activities and traffic limitations.
