Construction Update - Week of September 11


Hinckley Street
  • Ludlow Construction will continue installing new drainage between Warner Street and Winslow Ave.
  • Later in the week Ludlow Construction should begin installing new sewer main  from Riverside Drive toward Warner Street.
  • The work on this road includes the replacement of water, sewer and drainage utilities, a new drainage outfall off Riverside Drive, new sidewalk, roadway reclamation and repaving, and a raised crosswalk across Nonotuck Street.    
Pleasant and Holyoke Streets
  • George Cairns and Sons Construction will be excavating and  installing sheet pile bracing behind the former Northampton Lumber site in preparation for installation of a large drainage culvert.
  • The work consists of realigning a section of drainage culvert behind the former Northampton Lumber site and across Holyoke Street in order to accommodate the redevelopment of the site.
Pleasant and Williams Streets and Hockanum Road Gas Work
  • Columbia Gas is replacing gas main and services along these routes. Work will continue this week and in nearly complete. 
Day Avenue Ave/North Maple/North Farms
  • Caracas Construction will continue with the installation of the new water main in North Farms Road this week. One-lane traffic will be maintained, but motorists should expect delays or seek alternate routes, if possible.  Access for local residents will be maintained.  Temporary road closures may be required.
  • No work is expected on Day Avenue this week. The road will be open for use. Once work is complete on North Maple Street and North Farms Road, Caracas will return to Day Avenue to complete road work at that location.  
Audubon Road
  • Borges Construction will continue with the installation of drainage and be preparing for the replacement of the culvert.  The roadway will be open to local traffic only.  
  • The culvert is scheduled to be replaced the week of September 18th, and the roadway will be CLOSED TO ALL THROUGH TRAFFIC.
  • The work on this road includes replacing water and drain lines and a box culvert followed by reclaiming and repaving of the roadway from the center of Leeds to near house #200.
