The Northampton Department of Public Works will be closing Maple Avenue to all traffic on November 8th, 2017. This closure will be between the hours of 6:30am and 4:00pm to expedite the removal of a large dead tree at 15/17 Maple Avenue.
The tree removal will be coordinated with National Grid and Northern Tree Service. There will be a crane and bucket truck set up in the middle of the roadway completing the removal.
There will be no room for vehicles to pass down the street, and pedestrians are asked to stay clear of the work zone due to the overhead work.
We ask that all residents please move their vehicles from Maple Avenue the night before or prior to 6:30am on Wednesday. Vehicles will not be allowed to exit the street once the equipment is in place. There will be thirty (30) designated parking spaces in the Old South Street Parking Lot by the Maplewood Shops available for the residents for the duration of the work being conducted. The spaces will be marked with “Maple Avenue Residents Only”. Parking will return to normal after the work has been completed. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
