River Road Bridge is Reopened!

The River Road Bridge in Leeds, MA is now open to the public.
MassDOT has approved the opening of this structure to all traffic as of August 31, 2012.
During the construction of a new bridge, a portion of River Road was closed beginning on October 11, 2011.  The project was scheduled to be completed by November 11, 2012 but finished 71 days before the deadline.
Many thanks to MAS Building & Bridge, Inc. from Franklin, MA who completed the bridge ahead of schedule, and to the citizens who have endured the detours during this worthwhile project.

Temporary Detour for North Street Project

Week of August 6, 2012:
Caracas Construction Corporation will begin excavation in the roadway for sewer improvements starting at Market Street and continuing on North Street toward Woodmont Road.

Motorists should seek alternate routes and expect delays during this week of work.

A temporary detour will be instituted from Monday thru Wednesday (August 6-8, 2012) due to the Market St /North St intersection construction work.  Signs will direct traffic to travel on both Highland Avenue and Walnut Street to Parsons Street to avoid the intersection.

One-lane traffic is expected to become available on Thursday and Friday (August 9-10, 2012) with the help of police detail for direction.

Contractor work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM (Monday-Friday) causing changes in travel routes, otherwise the roadway will be opened to two-way traffic.

Please call Dave Veleta at 413-587-1570, x. 4310 if you have any questions.
