- Last week, Public Works repaired potholes on Riverside Drive and Westwood Terrace.
- To report a pothole, please submit a request for Pothole Repair. The largest potholes are filled first to alleviate hazards to vehicles. As hazards arise and are identified, they will be addressed.
- Street sweeping is in progress in Ward 1.
Burts Pit Road Paving Project
- Final pavement course has been completed.
- Top course on driveway aprons is scheduled for the week of August 29.
- Pavement markings (i.e. line striping) will be completed in 2-3 weeks to allow time for the pavement to cure.
- Main Street - Leeds, Spring Street, and Cross Street: Road reclamation is expected to begin on Wednesday (July 31st). It is to continue Thursday and Friday (August 1st and 2nd) and also the following Monday (August 5th). During this time period, work is anticipated to begin on Main Street - Leeds moving south onto and through Spring Street, then will move to Cross Street.
- There will be delays in traffic and alternate routes are suggested, when possible.
- On Bridge Road, the Contractor will be patching the pavement.
- On Glendale Road, the Contractor will continue installing drainage improvements.
- The City has contracted with Northern Tree Service to perform vegetation removal and maintenance work on portions of the flood control system.
- Minor work to complete the project will be ongoing throughout the month of July.
- The City contracted with Goodnow Trucking of Winchester, NH for logging two white pine stands in Roberts Meadow. This project began in 2018 but was paused due to unfavorable ground conditions. Work will continue through early August.
- Preliminary work includes construction signage installation, survey, work on the northbound I-91 off ramp and utility relocations.
- Questions about the project should be directed to MassDOT District 2.
- The Department of Public Works will be reconstructing a portion of Baker Hill Road, in the vicinity of #36-65. This work includes excavation and pavement.
- Expect minor delays during this construction.
- Beginning Monday, July 22, the Clement Street Bridge will be CLOSED for approximately six weeks and detours will be in place.
- The City has contracted with Hi-Way Safety Systems to repaint pavement markings across the City. This includes double yellow center lines, white edge lines, speed hump markings, arrows, railroad markings, and crosswalks.
