- Last week, the Highway Division:
- Repaired potholes on Harold Street, Cloverdale Street, Locust Street, Claire Avenue, Crescent Street and Woods Road.
- Completed storm drain work on Fort Street, Olive Street and Arch Street.
- To report a pothole, please submit a request for Pothole Repair. The largest potholes are filled first to alleviate hazards to vehicles. As hazards arise and are identified, they will be addressed.
- Crosswalk painting will continue throughout the City next week.
- Street sweeping in Ward 1 has been completed and Ward 6 is almost complete.
- Street sweeping in Ward 5 has begun and will continue next week.
- The paving project is substantially complete.
- The Contractor will be working on guardrail, signs and curb repair during the following weeks.
- Touch-ups to the loam and seed along the shoulder (roadway edge) will be made at the end of the project.
- On Spring Street, Main Street (Leeds) and Cross Street, the Contractor will continue work on curb and loam installation.
- On Chesterfield Road, paving is planned for Monday, September 23rd and Tuesday, September 24th, weather permitting. Detours will be in place with police officers to assist. No local traffic. Only residents and emergency vehicles will be allowed access. Please seek alternate routes.

- On Chesterfield Road, after paving is complete, structures will be adjusted.
- Paving is scheduled for Glendale Road and Brisson Drive on Monday, September 23rd, weather permitting. Detours will be in place with police officers to assist. Only residents and emergency vehicles will be allowed access. Please seek alternate routes.

- On Glendale Rd & Brisson Drive, after paving, no additional work is anticipated for the remainder of the week.
- On Bridge Road, no work is anticipated this week.
- On Denise Court, paving near Barrett Street is scheduled for Wednesday, September 25th.
South Main Street
- The City has contracted with Eastern Pipe Service to clean and video select sanitary sewer mains. The Contractor will be working on South Main Street in Florence, between Main St and Nonotuck Street, on Tuesday, September 25th.
- The City has contracted with Hi-Way Safety Systems to repaint pavement markings across the City. This includes double yellow center lines, white edge lines, speed hump markings, arrows, railroad markings and crosswalks.
- MassDOT has contracted with Baltazar Contractors, Inc. to construct a roundabout and associated improvements to the Interstate 91 - Exit 19 interchange at the base of the Coolidge Bridge. The work is scheduled to be completed by June 2021.
- Preliminary work includes construction survey, work on the northbound I-91 off ramp and southbound I-91 on ramp, and utility relocations.
