Highway Division Update
- Last week, the Highway Division:
- Repaired potholes on Overlook Drive, Woods Road and Fort Street.
- Completed drain work on Fort Street, Olive Street and Arch Street.
- Completed curb repair on O’Donnell Drive.
- To report a pothole, please submit a request for Pothole Repair. The largest potholes are filled first to alleviate hazards to vehicles. As hazards arise and are identified, they will be addressed.
- Street sweeping in Wards 1 and 6 is complete.
- Street sweeping in Ward 5 will continue next week.
- The paving project is substantially complete.
- The Contractor will be working on guardrail, signs and curb repair during the following weeks.
- Touch-ups to the loam and seed along the shoulder (roadway edge) will be made at the end of the project.
- On Spring Street, Main Street (Leeds) and Cross Street, the Contractor will continue work on sidewalk, curb, and loam.
- On Chesterfield Road, the Contractor will adjust structures (manholes, catch basins).
- On Glendale Rd, the Contractor will work on line painting, driveway aprons, and loam behind the curb.
- On Bridge Road, no work is anticipated this week.
- The City has contracted with Hi-Way Safety Systems to repaint pavement markings across the City. This includes double yellow center lines, white edge lines, speed hump markings, arrows, railroad markings and crosswalks.
- MassDOT has contracted with Baltazar Contractors, Inc. to construct a roundabout and associated improvements to the Interstate 91 - Exit 19 interchange at the base of the Coolidge Bridge. The work is scheduled to be completed by June 2021.
- Preliminary work includes construction survey, work on the northbound I-91 off ramp and southbound I-91 on ramp, and utility relocations.
